Collection of Approximately 120 Different WWII Civil Censor Cards and Covers in Small Box, showing different types of censor tapes or handstamps from about 30 countries or colonies. Some faults but mostly very good to very fine and includes many better items such as 2 triple censored covers including airmail cover from Turkey to Canada censored by the French, U.S.A. and Canada; cover front from Madagascar w/a Little BLVb 'ZB/1/ tape and a late use of his FHVII handstamp with number 'G10'; an airmail cover from Kenya to South Africa censored at the small censor station in Kisumu; and covers with Trinidad TR CP2 'Postal Permit No. 75' boxed handstamp unlisted by Miller; a British boxed 'Released by/Censor' handstamps, a US 'Returned/ to Sender/ By Censor' label, an unlisted Canadian transparent tape, an Australian H-3-8day handstamp without censor number, Bermuda terminal tape and handstamps (2 covers), and a Bombay tape on cover from Iran to U.S.A. Also note covers censored in Hong Kong, Gold Coast, Dutch East Indies and Denmark. There are 16 double censored covers including Bahamas/U.S.A., Finland/Canada, Newfoundland/U.S.A., U.S.S.R./Great Britain on faulty cover to Canada, Haiti/Canada, Brazil/Canada, Belgium/U.S.A., Ireland/Great Britain on a registered Irish cover to U.S.A., etc. A diverse collection which includes some interesting covers such as an Australian airmail cover to Canada with a Pan Am 'California/Clipper' handstamp endorsement and there are 5 Canadian tapes with censor numbers not listed by Burrows. Inspection should be rewarded, as each cover seems to be in some way different and there are only 7 long covers in this grouping. (Image)
