1940-42 Covers and cards (26) including "E.A ARMY POSTAL SERVICE / No. 1" c.d.s (3) and similar No. 2 c.d.s, double ring "APS EAF" (3) or dumb datestamps, violet "E.A.A.P.S /NAIROBI / 5" c.d.s, various Postal Frank or military cachets, forces mail posted into civil offices, green Field Service postcards (3, Burrows type 2.30, two unused), etc. Also ephemera with 1941 (Oct 4) "Special Order of the Day" issued in Sudan after the surrender of Italian forces in East Africa, Italian propaganda leaflet in arabic used in Sudan, 1941 (July 1) East African Currency Board 5/- banknote, etc. (31).

1941-46 Forces mail, mainly with E.A A.P.O datestamps numbered between 2 and 89, from Kenya (52), Ethiopia (32), Burma, Northern Rhodesia (2), Uganda, Madagascar (3), Tanganyika (3), Ceylon (2), India (2), British Somaliland (2) or Italian Somaliland (2), also British or Indian F.P.Os, forces mail sent through civil offices and naval mail, a few stamped for air mail or registration. 1942-45 Air letters including Christmas Greetings types for 1943 or 1944, East African or U.D.F printings, KUT 25c Post Paid stamps in blue (2) or red meter type franking, E.A A.P.O datestamps from Kenya (9) or Tanganyika (2). Also Airgraphs (3, two from Madagascar). (14).

1940-44 Stampless forces covers with datestamps of Arusha (Tanganyika), Choma or Lusaka (Northern Rhodesia) or red "OFFICIAL PAID / ZOMBA" (2, one with Commissioner of Police cachet), unusual. (5).

Censorship. 1942 Cover franked 1.30 from E.A. A.P.O 2 in Nairobi to Johannesburg, with enclosed "CENSOR'S COMMENT" memo bearing red "DEPUTY CHIEF FILED CENSOR" cachet and comments on the conduct of an individual named in the letter, evidently left in the cover in error. Subsequently returned to the addressees daughter who worked in the censor's office and passed to the Chief Field Censor, E.A. Command, with his letter of apology written on two further "Censor's Comment" forms. A unique group.

Censorship. c.1940 Stampless O.A.S cover to USA with "British-American Ambulance Corps, Hiram B.D Blauvelt, Liaison Officer and Representative in Africa" printed in the corner, to the Vice-President of the Corps in New York, with E.A. Forces censor (Colley EAB3, No. 7) and violet circular "DEPUTY CHIEF FIELD CENSOR / EAST AFRICA" (unrecorded, similar to EAF1 but number removed). Also a cover franked 1.30 to Switzerland with circular "DEPUTY CHIEF FIELD CENSOR" (EAF1A). (2).

Internee Mail - Uganda/Kenya. 1943 Lettersheets or cards from Italian Internees in Uganda (2) or Kenya (5), two printed lettersheets for Internment Camp No. 6 Uganda with violet oval cachets, Kenya items including cachets for Italian Evacuee Camp No. 1 (3) or 1A (2), also a cover to USA franked 30c with violet "DEPUTY CHIEF FIELD CENSOR" (EAF1A) and Prisoner of War Censorship seal. Internee Mail - Tanganyika. 1942 (Jan 19) Stampless cover to Italy with Tabora c.d.s and violet triangular "No / 1 / CAMP / PASSED BY CENSOR" on both sides, scarce.
