Cancels include "A.I. FORCES POSTAGE FREE / VIC" c.d.s (2) and similar Melbourne machine, A.I.F Base P.O c.d.s of Alexandria (2), Fremantle, Port Taufiq, etc., also picture postcards of ships (7), two items on Y.M.C.A stationery. 1914 Stampless cover with "TRENTHAM RIFLE RGE / N.Z" c.d.s. (recorded Oct. 5 - Nov. 4) and violet boxed "N.Z MILITARY POST OFFICE / OCT 7 1914 / EXPEDITIONARY FORCE" (44x26mm), recorded used at Trentham for two weeks (Sep. 25 - Oct. 8) prior to its use on a troopship; and a stampless postcard of Hobart posted at sea by a member of the Army Postal Service staff with the same 44x26mm N.Z Military Post Office handstamp dated OCT 25 1914, and violet "15/62 Sergt. Reg Miller / A.P.S. N.Z.E.F". (2).

Troopship Mail. 1914 (Nov. 14 - Dec. 4) Stampless postcards posted on troopships of the initial main force which arrived at Suez on Nov. 30th, all with violet boxed "N.Z. MILITARY POST OFFICE / EXPEDITIONARY FORCE" datestamps (42x25mm), one card depicting the "Limerick" and headed from the ship, two cards with violet "CENSOR / NEW ZEALAND", four cards with datestamps of Dec 2-4 written just after the troops arrival in Egypt but probably still applied on board ship, one to England with a red London Paid c.d.s. A few faults, all cancels fine. (8).

Troopship Mail. 1915-16 Stampless postcards (11) and a cover with boxed "N.Z MILITARY POST OFFICE / TROOPSHIP No...." datestamps in violet or blue, comprising No. 30 ("Maunganui"), 31 ("Tahiti"), 33 ("Navua"), 35 ("Willochra"), 36 ("Tofua"), 37 ("Maunganui"), 38 ("Tahiti"), 39 ("Tahiti"), 42 ("Ulimaroa"), 54 ("Willochra"), 56 ("Maunganui"), also another with the number off the card but believed to be No. 34 ("Warrimoo"), numbers 35 and 36 with unusual boxed "PASSED BY CENSOR" above a dotted line (47x32mm), 37, 38 and 39 with "PASSED BY MILITARY CENSOR" (65x3mm), 42 with similar censor cachet but 56x2mm, 54 and 56 with "CENSORED." (37x6mm). A fine and rare lot. (12).
