Symbol:( Becker & Co.'s Express, Roses Bar. Oval handstamp (BEK-100c) on cover front addressed to French Corral, with manuscript "Forwarded by Beckers Post" endorsement at bottom, Very Fine for this, this being the Only Known Example of the Becker & Co.'s Express Handstamp From Roses Bar.

Becker & Co.'s Express was a short-lived one-man's express that extended from Marysville to French Corral. Only three handstamps are known from this company all from different towns. Printed rectangular frank (DOW-001) on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to St. Louis, light "Table Rock, Cal., Jul 16" cds and matching circular grid handstamp canceling; cover reduced a bit at left, Very Fine, this being one of the finest used examples of only five known of this rare frank.

Hinckley & Co.'s Express Mail. Printed scroll frank (HIN-001) with large St. Joseph in care directive imprint below (HIN-401), on 1860, 3¢ Star Die entire to Claremont, N.H., "Hinckley & Co.'s Express, Denver City, Mar 18, 1861" origin cds (HIN-100) and entered the mails with green "Saint Joseph, Mo., Mar 25, 1861" cds, with original enclosure from Golden City, C.T. datelined "High Bar District, March 11, 1861" with some interesting content…We have the Inaugural Address of President Lincoln…which is looked for with considerable interest. It is generally believed that there will be no dissolution of the Union or that the breach will be settled by compromised or otherwise, mentions mining claim and other details around Golden City, Very Fine and choice, ex-Emerson & Jessup.

Bold blue oval handstamp (RHC-102) with matching "Paid" in oval handstamp canceling on 1853, 3¢ Nesbitt entire to San Francisco, with well struck red "Wells, Fargo & Co. Express, Sacramento" oval handstamp and light pencil "If cannot deliver, drop in P.O." directive at lower left, entered the mails for delivery with "San Francisco, Cal., Jul 11" cds; partial backflap and slight ink erosion in spots at upper right, Very Fine.

Two strikes of blue oval date stamp on 1864, 3¢ pink entire (U59) to Boston, Mass. uprated with 1861, 3¢ rose (65), matching "Collect" in oval handstamps, reverse with 1864, 3¢ pink entire paste-up (U58) with large red "COLLECT" imprint and indicia additionally canceled by date stamp, stamp on front additionally tied by circle of wedges cancel with matching partial New York transit cds's, ""Occidental Hotel, San Francisco, Cal."" label at bottom left; some cover tears and opened at sides for display, Very Fine, an extremely rare "Collect" paste-up entire usage from San Francisco, with 1983 P.F. certificate.
