Victoria, "1" Barred Oval of Melbourne (F&W type 2), full strike in red on 4-margin New South Wales 1852, Queen Victoria, 3d green, medium paper, Very Fine and choice, an extremely rare strike of the "1" barred oval of Melbourne in red, unrecorded by Freeman in red and quite possibly unique. SG No. N.S.W. 66  Estimate $200 - 300. In the 1850's, the quickest route from Sydney to Melbourne was by sea taking 3 or 4 days.
