1811 (April 11). Entire letter from Tarragona (Spain) to Montevideo, conveyed through the Atlantic by the Spanish Royal Fleet. It is believed that this letter landed in Montevideo in a closed case and was transported to Buenos Aires by a “nave de registro”, entering this city for the application of the “España.” Straight-line in red (Kouri type VII), being forwarded to its final destination. Very few covers are recorded, sent to Montevideo, exhibiting any “España” postmark. Ex Camino and Sitjà. (Image)
