1860 (9 Aug) outer FL originating from Paris, France, with oval "Apesteguy & Mairesse" oval, addressed to the U.S. Consul in Vera Cruz, Mexico, sent by unknown means to New Orleans, where it was franked with 3c red (imperf. at right, with vertical gutter lines), tied by 1 September cds, oval "Forwarded by E.J. Forstall" handstamp on back, carried by the schooner "Potomac", with no charges assessed in Mexico, some cover mending at top, little toning at left, otherwise fine and interesting item, with Molesworth's pencil noted on reverse (Cat No. 11) (Image)
