Bryan, New Orleans Agent of the Texian Post Office, oval agent handstamp on part folded letter with manuscript "Bear Creek Ga., 26th Sept." postmark and matching "Paid 25" rating to Nacogdoches, Texas, endorsed "by way of Fort Jessup", routing instruction ignored and put on the Columbia for Galveston where Ship handstamp and manuscript "56" rating applied for 6¼¢ ship rating (¼¢ ignored) plus 50¢ inland postage, 1840 receipt docketing; overall toning, F.-V.F.
