Wells Fargo & Co., Columbus House (Sierra), blue oval handstamp (Leutzinger type 11-9) on 1870 3Ā¢ green entire to San Francisco, Cal., black Haller type E printed frank; small cover nick at top slightly affecting frank, still Very Fine and rare, this small town never had a post office, ex-Tatham. EstimateĀ $300 - 400. Columbus House was established as a hotel/stage stop in 1851 by a group of miners from Columbus Oh. near the present day town of Strawberry Valley. By 1866, the owner was W.H.
