Lamping operated between Marysville and Downieville as the successor to Langton's Pioneer Express after Samuel Langton was accidently killed. Lamping purchased Langton's Yuba River business from Langton's family on November 21, 1865. Lamping sold out to Wells Fargo effective August 1, 1866.
