Mars to his brother Samuel, letter is headed "Bonham Francis Co. Texas, Dec. 14th 1848" and "Sherman, Grayson County, December 23d 1848" and mentions "I am about taking a trip to California next Spring as soon as the grass rises." and "I commenced this letter in Bonham some ten days since + folded it up, deposited it in my hat + there it has remained ever since." and "The papers you sent me have not yet come to hand. The mails for the last 3 or 4 weeks have been perfectly crowded + I presume they have been left for the purpose of making room for the political documents.", a few minor stains, Very Fine, a rare early Texas cover.
