Tenth Missouri Regiment, 1862 cover franked with 1861 1¢ blue + 3¢ rose, both tied by strikes of "Philadelphia Pa. Aug 12 1862" cds on orange buff cover to Lt. in Tenth Missouri Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division (Pope's), Army of the Mississippi, reverse with "U.S. Penny Mail, Phila. Pa. Aug 12" octagonal datestamp and "Received, Cairo Ill. Aug 17, 1862" cds; some edge wear, Very Fine. Scott No. 63  Estimate $100 - 150. The 10th Missouri Regiment, which had been organized at St. Louis in August 1861, was during this time in Corinth Miss. Cover was carried by carrier service to the Philadelphia post office and then normal channels to Cairo, where it was carried by military courier to Corinth. $0 (Image)
