Green cds with matching "10" handstamp (type VIIE) on folded endorsed "printed circular", printed three page document entitiled "Correspondence on the proposed Southern Convention" with contents of the Florida Delegation to Congress by D.L. Yulee, Jackson Morton and E.C. Cabell addressed to Florida Governor Thomas Brown urging support of the Nashville Convention to organize Southern opposition to the Compromise of 1850, includes Brown's two page reply of refusal to participate and urging moderationā€¦I believe that this glorious Union will firmly and safely weather this storm, sent to former Floridian and lawer Lawrence O'Bryan Branch in Raleigh, N.C., Very Fine, ex Meroni. EstimateĀ  $300 - 400. In 1840, Branch moved to Tallahassee, Florida and was admitted to the bar to practice law by a special act of the legislature. Just one year later, he went to fight in the Seminole Wars. In 1852, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he continued to practice law. $0 (Image)
