Steamer Hecla. Red oval name-of-boat oval handstamp lightly struck on brown cover to Stratford Conn. franked with 1847 5¢ red brown horiz. pair (ample margins to slightly in at top, worn impression) tied by red grid cancels with matching "New Orleans La. Feb. 15" circular datestamp, some wear and light staining, Fine and rare, very few 1847 issue covers exist with name-of-boat packetboat markings, ex-Dick and Sampson, illustrated in Milgram.
