Sacramento City, Cal., Dec 4, 1857. Circular postmark (Williams SAC-2560) on two 1853 3¢ Nesbitt entires; both addressed to "Hon. J.W. Denver, Com. Indian Affairs, Washington D.C.", with "Free" handstamp handstamped over with "Paid" straight line handstamps as Denver was not entitled to free franking privileges at this time, Very Fine. Scott No. U10  Estimate $300 - 400. These two entires where sent between the time Denver was not the Commissioner of Indian Affairs but the Governor of Kansas Territory and not entitled to the free franking privilege. $0 (Image)
