Redington, Ariz., 2/20 1894 (Pima), cds with manuscript date (Meyer 2, rarity 6) and matching target handstamp canceling on 1887, 2Ā¢ green entire to New York City, Benson transit on reverse, Very Fine, the only reported example of this postmark. EstimateĀ $200 - 300. This early ranch post office was named after two brothers, Henry and Lem Redfield, who located there in 1875. Lem was hung by a mob at Florence in 1883 for his alleged part in a stage robbery and killing. The post office was established Oct. 7, 1879 with Henry F. Redfield as postmaster. $0 (Image)
