Postal Card, 1897, 1¢ black on buff, double impression, one inverted, one indicia cancelled by "Evanston Ill. Feb 21 1925" machine cancel to Austin Tex., Very Fine; with 1937 letter from J.M. Bartels discussing this error. Scott No. UX14a  $8,750. ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED USED EXAMPLES OF THE 1¢ JEFFERSON POSTAL CARD WITH DOUBLE IMPRESSION, ONE INVERTED. Currently there are only five mint and two used examples of this error. The other recorded used example was offered in the 2006 Siegel Rarity sale (lot 928) realizing $8,250 including the buyers premium.
