Pomeroy's Letter Express, 1844, 5¢ black on yellow, large margins all around, light internal creasing, cancelled by manuscript "C" on folded letter datelined "Rochester July 10. 1844" to New York City street address, ex-C. E. Chapman (his purple handstamp at center). Scott No. 117L1  $3,500. ONE OF LESS THAN 20 RECORDED COVERS BEARING THE SCARCE POMEROY INCOMPLETE VALUE STAMP. This stamp comes from one of the positions on the plate with the value "20 for $1" incomplete ("$1" removed).
