Pacific Express Co./Stockton/Sep. 12. Blue oval handstamp struck twice on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to a man at the Lady Adams Building in Sacramento City, Very Fine and attractive, a very similar in style to the Wells, Fargo & Co. oval handstamp, but considerably scarcer, ex-Chase & Knapp. Estimate  $200 - 300. The Lady Adams Building was built in 1852 from timbers and ballast bricks salvaged from an abandoned ship called the Lady Adams. It is the second oldest building still standing in Sacramento after Sutter's Fort, and it is the oldest building of all in the Old Sacramento historic district. $0 (Image)
