Kimball in San Francisco franked with 1851 3Ā¢ dull red affixed to comply with postal regulations but uncancelled, Very Fine. EstimateĀ  $150 - 200. Prior to becoming the most important letter bag operator in San Francisco, Charles P. Kimball gained a reputation for being noisy while selling eastern newspapers brought in on the Panama and Nicaragua steamers.
