Ouachita Packet Princeton, bold strike of fancy handstamp showing cotton bale on folded letter datelined "El Dorado Febr. 27th 1848" to Vicksburg via New Orleans, entered mails with "New Orleans La. Mar 4" cds and matching "Steam" and "10" rating handstamps, transferred to the New Orleans to Louisville Route 5001 that served Vicksburg at this time, file fold, Very Fine. Milgram No. 1146  Estimate $1,000 - 1,500. This fancy "Princeton" handstamp is one of the more interesting designs depicting a cotton bale, which of course is one of the important cargoes for Lower Mississippi vessels. $0 (Image)
