Maj. Gen. Henry T. Allen - A.P.O.'s 927 & 702, 1917-21. Collection 32 covers and cards; with 1921 letter from Maj. Gen. Henry Allen to Fort Riley, Kans sent from A.P.O. 927 the headquarters of the A.F.G. in Coblenz shortly before it closed, with signed enclosure on official letterhead which bemoans the lack of good "riding men" for horseback competition in the Army; other covers with a nice representation of usages from APO 927 and APO 702 (District of Paris) including some scarce items, earliest and latest known usages, etc.; condition well above the norm overall, F.-V.F. Estimate  $300 - 400. When World War I began, Maj. Gen. Allen took the 90th Infantry Division to France. After the armistice was signed, he was named commander of all American troops on occupation duty in Germany. $0 (Image)
