Laporte, Col., Jun 17, full ca. 1867 cds tying 1861, 3¢ rose on cover to Fort Sauders, Dacotah Ter., manuscript "care U.P.R.R." endorsement at lower left; small stamp flaws, otherwise Very Fine, two other examples of this postmark have been recorded, neither is year dated. Estimate  $300 - 400. Opened in 1862, this office was closed in 1864 when severe floods nearly wiped out the town of LaPorte. It reopened in 1866, after the town had been rebuilt. $0 (Image)
