Lahaina, Hawaiian Islands, May 12, circular datestamp (M-H 243.03) and red "Honolulu U.S. Postage Paid May 17" transit on rebacked cover front to Mrs. Sereno Bishop in Oakland Cal., bearing Hawaii 5¢ blue, thin bluish wove (9), large margins to just in, tiny crease and toned spot, tied by Lahaina grid, used with U.S. 5¢ brown (76), defective, tied by target cancel and matching "San Francisco Cal. June 12, 1865" cds adjacent, Fine appearance, an extremely rare mixed-franking cover from Lahaina, ex-Wolters, G. Bleuler. Estimate  $3,000 - 4,000. Letter transferred from Lahaina by local mail boat to Honolulu, then carried by Bark "D.C. Murray" leaving Honolulu May 18th and arriving at San Francisco on June 10th 1865. $0 (Image)
