Turner, 10-line stencil handstamp on reverse of 3¢ green entire cancelled by "New Orleans Jun 28" duplex, addressed to the care of the postmaster at Hermitage La. who was also the agent for the False River Line, blue Bouton et Fil & Co. merchant handstamp, a Very Fine marking, ex-Paul Rohloff; with 1999 P.F. certificate. Milgram No. 703  Estimate $1,500 - 2,000. THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS MISSISSIPPI RIVER STENCILLED CACHET. Only three examples of stencil Name-of-Boat cachets have been recorded for inland waterway steamboats. That for the "J.M. Turner" and "Rose" is the most detailed of these. $0 (Image)
