Hiram Lusk, forerunner to Rhodes & Lusk's Express. 1850 folded letter addressed to Martini Ranch, Scotts River, letter datelined "Sact 'Cty, Cal., April the 6th 1850" with postscript, "Hiram Lusk carries the express from hear to Shasta and you can send with safety when you give to him. take (?) Receit for it to be delivered (at) Willcolons and Co. Sact city, Cal."; cover soiling, Fine, a fascinating and early historical account of this early expressman. Estimate  $300 - 400. Hiram Lusk is known to have started Rhodes & Lusk's Express with James. H.
