Large black circular handstamp dated April 9, 1861, on 3¢ Star Die entire with blue St. Joseph, Mo., cds, to Wisconsin, black printed company frank at left, couple closed tears at top, almost Very Fine appearance. Estimate  $300 - 400. Hinckley & Co.'s Express was started in 1860 by C. S. Hinckley and John A. Sowers, serving mining camps in present-day Colorado and Nebraska Territory. They were bought out by the Central Overland California and Pikes Peak Express Co. in May 1861.
