Letter (in German) datelined Havana August 10 1832, landed at Cowes, Isle of Wight, where the U.S. Consul, Robert R. Hunter applied his forwarder's cachet and sent the letter as a ship letter to Hamburg, where the scarce "POST OFFICE for AMERICA / HAMBURG" with castle was struck, along with the October 13 arrival date .The total charge upon delivery was 12½ silbergroschen, being 2½ silbergroschen ship letter charge and 10sgr for the 500 kilometers to Herrnhut, now on the borders of both Poland and the Czech Republic, Extremely Fine.
