Havana - Hamburg - New York - Portsmouth of 1834. Entire dated "Havana 28 July 1834" mistakenly put on a vessel to Hamburg. Quarantined at Cuxhaven explained by letters content stating "yellow fever or some other sickness nearly as bad" causing death or crewmen. Received the "CUXHAVENER QUARANTAINE SIEGE / DR A.C.T. MEIER" cachet. Landed at Hamburg 4th October to be sent on to New York arriving 13th December 1834. Charged 20? Cents on delivery. Atlantic transit of 68 days., Very Fine and choice.
