Blue straight line handstamp (late use by Everts Snell & Co.) on stampless folded letter to Potosi, Wisconsin, mailed with "Marysville, Cal, Feb 28" blue cds and blue "10" handstamped rate marking, letter is headed "Forbestown Cal Feby 11 /52" and is from a successful mining capitalist who has just "bought in the Sutter Quartz Mining Company" and has a "contract to get out the quartz for the company" and "besides the above claim I have claims in thirteen other Quartz Co.'s of which I am a director in two" and who wants his son to finish school "as I expect to have to send him to this country when I come home to attend to my business… when he comes to this country I will put him in a way of making his fortune", trivial surface scrape affecting one letter of the address ("P" touched up with blue ink), Extremely Fine and choice, an unrecorded & unique marking.
