Fort Lyon, C.T., May 8, 1863, bold full strike of cds on cover to Glenwood, Iowa, franked with 1861, 3Ā¢ rose (few nibbed perfs at left) tied by target handstamp; small cover corner nick at top left, Very Fine, an exceptional strike of this short lived postmark known used between April and July of 1863. EstimateĀ  $200 - 300. To protect travelers in the Arkansas Valley, Fort Wise was established near Bent's Fort. On August 2, 1862 the name was changed to Lyon. $0 (Image)
