Fast Freight & Express Co., S.F., May 10, 1865, two strikes of circular date stamp (FFE-400) on front and backflap of 1864, 3¢ pink entire to Oroville, connecting with W.F. & Co. with blue "Wells, Fargo & Co., Sac. Messenger., May 10" oval date stamp, company frank at top; cove reduced at right a bit into indicia, otherwise Very Fine, the only known usage by the Fast Freight & Express Co. Estimate  $1,000 - 1,500. The Fast Freight & Express Co. appears to have operated between San Francisco and Sacramento by riverboat and from Sacramento to Storey, Nevada by wagon over the same route used by the Virginia Pony Express. $0 (Image)
