Fargo & Co.'s Feather River Express, bold blue oval handstamp on embossed ladies cover addressed to Sacramento City, Cal., red "Farmington, Iowa, May 18" origin cds and manuscript "10" rate, pencil "1.50" express rate amd manuscript "Meekers North Fork" routing, with original 1852 lengthy 6-page enclosure; light cover soiling slightly cleaned and expertly sealed tear at upper left, otherwise Very Fine, a wonderful strike of this extremely rare express handstamp, with only a few examples known.
