Esmeralda, Cal, Nov 25 (Mono), manuscript postmark (MON-650) on cover to Troy, N.Y. franked with 1861, 10¢ green tied by grid and manuscript "Paid" most likely indicating that cover was express carried at some point, cover could not be carried north due to weather late in the season and was carried over the southern pass to Stockton where it received a Dec 9th mark, Very Fine.
