Carson City., U.T., blue straight line postmark with manuscript "Dec. 12th" date below and matching "Paid 10" rating on 1860 yellow cover from the Pardon Brown correspondence to Middletown, R.I., pencil docketing "Recd. the letter Jan. 15, 1861" at bottom and left; reduced slightly at left, stain, Fine and rare. Estimate $200 - 300. The Pardon Brown correspondence is noted for several covers carried by Snowshoe Thompson's express from Carson Valley to Placerville during the winters of 1857-58 and 1858-1859.
