Bamber & Co.'s Contra Costa Express, Paid., handstamp frank in red (BAM-101) on 1860, 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, manuscript "D" in top corner indicating Danville origin and red "Bamber & Co.'s Express, S.F., Aug 15" double circle date stamp (BAM-102), Very Fine, a very rare example of this Bamber handstamp frank with only two examples recorded in red. Estimate $400 - 600. Bamber carried from Danville into the business district of San Francisco.
