Ash Fork, Ariz., Feb 12, 1886 (Yavapai), clear strike of cds (Meyer 2, rarity 5) on registered 1884, 2¢ brown entire to New London, N.H., uprated 1¢ Banknote, horizontal pair and strip of three all canceled by cork handstamp, manuscript registry number, Very Fine, an attractive registry usage from Ash Fork, the earliest of five recorded postmarks. Estimate  $150 - 200. Station and division point on A. T. & S. F. R. R. For many years stages for Prescott started from here. In Jan. 1892, the Prescott-Phoenix branch began building south from Ash Fork. Named by F. W. Smith, General Superintendent of old Atlantic and Pacific R.
