1967, $1 O'Neill, black violet color of error, corner margin plate "32902" block of 4, o.g., some gum imperfections with no hinge marks (cert calls hinged), bright and fresh, Very Fine, a very rare color of error plate block, with only six plate blocks recorded (from the original 1975 survey); with 2014 P.F. certificate. Scott No. 1294b  $1,000 for n.h. The BEP analyzed the pigment components from this issue and announced "Analyses that were conducted on the pigment components show that the wrong ink was used for the production of these stamps.". This error has been newly listed in the Scott 2014 catalog with a catalog price of $750, however no sales data is known for this rare variety. In comparison, the much more common $5 Prexie in the red brown error of color shade lists at $15,000 for a plate block. $0 (Image)
