The BEP analyzed the pigment components from this issue and announced "Analyses that were conducted on the pigment components show that the wrong ink was used for the production of these stamps.". This error has been newly listed in the Scott 2014 catalog with a catalog price of $750, however no sales data is known for this rare variety.
