1932 2¢ Olympic Runner, Large Die Essay in Deep Carmine (152 x 204mm), the Bureau of Engraving & Printing blue numeral handstamp has been erased from reverse, Extremely Fine; with 1991 A.P.S. certificate & Brazer handstamp on reverse. Scott No. unlisted  Estimate $5,000 - 7,500. The design of the essay is in deep red, while the issued stamp is in purple. Four plates were made from this die with the 2¢ denomination, however due to the rate change from 2¢ to 3¢, no plate were ever printed. Only one example of the Deep Red 2¢ Large Die Essay in known. $0 (Image)
