Lot No:2049

1893 Columbian Exposition Postcard. Lovely unused printed design in brown on light green card published by B. Kenyon (Megson GB110, Cat. $300), Extremely Fine and rare. Estimate  $200 - 300. Included is interesting note from the publisher, Brewster Kenyon, dated "June 4, 1946", which reads, "Here are the copies of the light green and light rose Private Post Cards that I had made and used at the time of the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893, just as noted in the paragraph about them, that you found on page 73 of the April 1893 issue of 'The Postal Card'. They were lithographed by a Los Angeles company and 1000 printed of each shade. Being larger than the Government Postal Cards, I had to pay 2¢ postage on them. Probably 90% of them were used in correspondence with non-philatelist." Signed Brewster Kenyon. $0 (Image)
