1887 (Nov. 1) Christiansted, Danish West Indies to Copenhagen, Denmark At Special "Korsor" Hapag Rate, cover bearing 1874, 7¢ reddish lilac & chrome yellow, printing I, exceptional centering within large margins, tied by "Christiansted 1/11 1887" cds on cover endorsed "via Hamburg", St. Thomas (1.11) and Kopenhagen (1.28) backstamps; purple handstamp at lower left, Very Fine; with 1996 Moller certificate. Facit No. 9. Scott No. 9  Estimate $3,000 - 4,000. The special 7¢ rate was negotiated in 1872 by the Danish-German postal convention that survived through UPU membership until July 1907.
