Estimate  $300 - 400. Letter posted 3 October 1870 Julian calendar in use in Greece (15 October 1870 Gregorian calendar). Trieste marked 6½ silbergroschen due (32.5 neukreuzer) for 17.5 nkr. owed to Austrian Lloyd steamship company plus 15 nkr. international fee for direct service. Prussia only debited U.S. 3½ silbergroschen in accordance with U.S.-NGU postal convention. New York marked 32¢ postage due in depreciated greenback currency.
