Estimate  $300 - 400. French mail agent on board steamer erroneously applied circular datestamp LIGNE H PAQ. FR. No.2 (cachet de ligne), normally used on unprocessed mail arriving at the steamship on westward voyages. In fact, he didn't change the date slug from when the marker had been used on the voyage to the U.S. Use of this marking device, instead of the one normally used which showed the letter was from the U.S. (cachet de province), is quite uncommon.
