Scott No. 113  Estimate $15,000 - 20,000. About ninety percent of all covers recorded that were sent by U.S. packet from St. Thomas and entering in New York during the 1865-71 period were franked with a single U.S. 10¢ stamp prepaying the half ounce single rate. This cover was most likely franked as such due to a temporary shortage of 10¢ stamps at the St. Thomas post office. Sent from St. Thomas aboard the S.S. North America departing St. Thomas on May 13th and arriving in New York on May 20th, 1871. $0 (Image)
