Wright's New York Cotton Circular sent by Kremelberg & Co. of New York at the 2¢ printed matter rate paid to destination with 2¢ black (73), exceptionally well centered with a couple sort perfs, tied by NYCM circle of wedges, New York large red "½" (silbergroschen) handstamp credit to Bremen, carried by NGL Line New York from New York to Bremerhaven, blue "America/über Bremen/Franco" transit; slight bend affects 2¢, Very Fine, ex Richard Winter. Estimate $400 - 600. Pencil "12/30" numbers appear to be docketing date of origin or reception, but don't line up with an sailing of the "New York". Circular prepaid to destination in Bremen. Large "½" handstamp of New York, known in red and in black, applied as a result of late 1866/early 1867 negotiations with the Germans that established printed matter rates beyond the GAPU and set U.S. credits per item (recent research by Heinrich Conzelmann). $0 (Image)
