1867 (Mar. 5) New York, N.Y. to Bremen, Germany, printed William P. Wright New York Cotton circular at 2¢ printed matter rate prepaid by 1863, 2¢ black, tied by NYCM geometric cancel, carried by Cunard Line Java from New York Mar. 6 to Queenstown arriving Mar. 19, red Calais (3.21) entry cds, Bremen Thurn & Taxis (3.22) backstamp, blue crayon "4" grote due rating, Very Fine and scarce routing to Bremen via France. Scott No. 73  Estimate $300 - 400. Circular travelled from Paris to Bremen by the Thurn & Taxis Post, an uncommon routing for circulars to Bremen. French entry marking, ET.-UNIS SERV.BR. A.C., an entry marking taken out of service for letters in 1861, but apparently used in 1867 on printed matter, indicated the item was from the United States and was transported by British service to G.B., entering France on the Calais Ambulant to Paris. $0 (Image)
