Position 81R, top stamp in vertical pair, well centered with margins around design, natural s.e. at left as always, tied by blue "New York City, Apr 25" cds and square grid duplexes on locally addressed cover, 1867 year docketing at left; cover with light corner wear, Very Fine, the unique on cover example of the "Preston Shift" on cover, considered to be the finest known example of this major double transfer, this cover resided in the Allen collection with the double transfer going unnoticed, illustrated in Lane (pg. 87), ex Allen, Metzger; with 2002 P.F. certificate.
