1861 (Apr. 28) Madras, India to Richmond Me., folded letter bearing India 2a buff (15), 8a rose on bluish (10) and 8p lilac (19) pair, all with manuscript "AHS" control and tied by lozenge cancels, red Madras (4.28) origin backstamp and matching "India Paid" crescent handstamp on front with red manuscript "1/4" 1s4d credit, endorsed "via Marseilles", red London Paid (9.27) transit cds, carried on Cunard Line Asia from Liverpool Sep.28th to New York arriving Oct. 11th, bold "N. York Br. Pk. '5' Oct 11" debit exchange cds, Very Fine. Estimate  $300 - 400. Cover was sent at the 39¢ British Mail rate via Marseilles for up to ¼ oz. effective April 1, 1859 to May 30, 1863.
