1860, 90¢ blue. Rich color, tied in combination with 3¢ dull red by unusual red circle of diamonds fancy cancel of New Haven Conn. on small piece, tiny tears at top of 90¢ stamp which are mostly masked by the red cancel, 3¢ stamp few clipped perfs, Very Fine appearance and extremely rare used on piece; with 1983 P.F. certificate. Scott No. 39+26  $10,000 ++. This is the Only Recorded Example of the 90-Cent 1860 Issue with a Fancy Cancel.This 90¢ stamp on piece was the subject of an article by Thomas J. Alexander in Opinions II: Philatelic Expertizing - An Insider's View, published by the Philatelic Foundation in 1984. The cancel is known on a cover from New Haven Conn.Scott Retail as used with no premium for the piece or use with the 3¢ stamp. $0 (Image)
