York Brem. Pkt. Mar 11" exchange transit, Havana (3.18) backstamp with boxed "NA" and "4" reales due h.s., light toning, Fine, Scarce cover from Germany to Cuba via the U.S. by Bremen Treaty mail. Estimate  $200 - 300. Prepayment of 12 schillinge included 15¢ fee from Hamburg to New York via Bremen plus 5¢ additional fee for U.S. transit to Cuba. Pencil notation of 6¾ silbergroschen in upper right was statement of foreign postage in North German currency. U.S. mail steamer "Cahawba" carried letter from New York to Havana.
